Pictured here are three herdwicks at Wastwater lake with the mountains of Wasdale in the distance. Beautifully captured here by Dave Massey, the sheeps in the foreground are standing tall alongside with the dramatic mountains full of colours, in the background. Bah Bah Bah, the three tenors of Wastwater.

The lake is almost three miles long and more than one-third mile wide. It is a glacial lake, formed in a glacially 'over-deepened' valley. It is the deepest lake in England at 258 feet.

Dave began his career in recording studios, composing and producing music whilst doing the graphic design and photography for album covers. Around 10 years ago he exchanged the studio for wide open spaces as he began taking his lifelong passion for photography seriously.

Having grown up taking family holidays in Ullswater, the Lake District remains one of his favourite places to photograph. He is inspired by the landscape through the seasons and the challenge to capture the changing beauty of nature to “Chase the light”.

Fine art quality print, hand trimmed and packed with care in the UK. The given print sizes include the white border around the image.
